NFL Week 7 recap
Out with the old: Legendary quarterbacks (QBs) Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers lost badly yesterday. Brady’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers were routed 21–3 by the lowly Carolina Panthers while Rodgers’ Green Bay Packers fell 23–21 to the dysfunctional Washington Commanders. Maybe age is more than a number?
In with the new: On the flip side, Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow was busy making history during Cincy’s 35–17 domination of the Atlanta Falcons. Joey B put up 481 yards (not to mention three touchdowns), making him the first QB to post five games with 400 or more passing yards in his first three years. This Gen Z QB is ice cold.
Let’s hear it for New York?: The NY Giants edged out the Jacksonville Jaguars 23–17 and the NY Jets beat the QB Russell Wilson–less Denver Broncos 16–9. We certainly didn’t have “NY football makes a comeback” on our 2022 bingo card.
