Washington D.C.: Nationals End Series Against Giants with a 5-0 Win
⚾️Nationals: The Nats shut out the National League (NL)-leading San Francisco Giants 5–0 in yesterday’s series finale, splitting the four-game slate. Nats’ left fielder Kyle Schwarber homered twice to complement pitcher Joe Ross’ eight scoreless innings. Sitting last in the NL East, let’s hope this could be a turning point.
- Speaking of pitching, Nats’ ace Max Scherzer hopes to make his next start, scheduled for Wednesday against the Pittsburgh Pirates. After throwing just 12 pitches, Scherzer left Friday’s game with a tweaked groin. Fingers crossed.
🏀Mystics: The Mystics beat the LA Sparks on Thursday, but couldn’t stretch their winning streak to three after losing 101–78 to the Atlanta Dream yesterday in a turnover-laden performance. The ’Stics look to avenge their loss in Thursday’s rematch at 7 p.m. ET in front of a full capacity crowd. Let’s get as loud as the cicadas.
