Seattle: Let’s get down to business
March 8, 2021
The GIST: It’s March, which can only mean one thing: the Gonzaga men’s and women’s basketball teams are powering into the postseason. First stop? Today’s WCC Tournament semifinals.

Women’s: The Gonzaga women (featuring double trouble, times two) kick things off against Santa Clara today at 2 p.m. ET/11 a.m. PT. WCC co-Player of the Year Jenn Wirth and the ’Zags used their stingy defense to defeat Santa Clara both times in the regular season. We have faith they’ll lock it down again.
- Aside from the ’Zags, the Washington State women’s season might not be over just yet. Although the Cougs lost in the Pac-12 Tournament quarter-finals on Thursday, they’re projected to receive an at-large bid to March Madness. Stay tuned for Selection Monday.
Men’s: Then, all eyes will be on the undefeated and top-ranked Gonzaga men, who return to the court today at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT against Saint Mary’s. With Corey Kispert, Drew Timme and Jalen Suggs in the running for the best player in the country, this game should be all ’Zags.
