NFL Week 6 recap
Encore, do you want more?: After a slow start, the most hyped game of the week more than delivered, as the Buffalo Bills defeated quarterback (QB) Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs 24–20, avenging last year’s stunning playoff loss.
- The Bills took the lead late in the fourth quarter when QB Josh Allen did his best Sydney McLaughlin impression before connecting with tight end Dawson Knox for the game-winning touchdown (TD).
Birds of a feather: The undefeated Philadelphia Eagles are still flying high after last night’s 26–17 Sunday Night Football win over their NFC East foe Dallas Cowboys. The typically stout Dallas D was no match for QB Jalen Hurts (155 yards, 2 TDs), as the Eagles soared to 6-0 on the season. Turns out losing’s not for the birds.
Expect the unexpected: A shocker of an afternoon saw QB Lamar Jackson’s Baltimore Ravens upset 24–20 by the suddenly contending 5-1 NY Giants. Then, try as he might, QB Tom Brady couldn’t light a spark under his Tampa Bay Buccaneers — they dropped to 3-3 with a 20–18 loss to the struggling Pittsburgh Steelers.
- And perhaps most stunningly, the NY Jets thumped the Green Bay Packers 27–10 on Packers’ turf, marking QB Aaron Rodgers’ first home loss in 16 games. We’ll take chaos for $1000, Alex.
Looking ahead: The topsy turvy Week 6 closes out with tonight’s 8:15 p.m. ET Monday Night Football showdown between the Denver Broncos and the LA Chargers. Broncos QB Russell Wilson and co. are in the hot seat after a stretch of dismal offensive showings — see if they can ride their way to victory over QB Justin Herbert’s squad tonight.
