🏂 Snowboard: Thanks to 36-year-old Lindsey Jacobellis, Team USA has its first gold of the Games. Competing in her fifth Olympics, Jacobellis finished first in this morning’s snowboard cross final and is now the oldest American woman to win gold at a Winter Olympics. Cue WNBA GOAT Diana Taurasi.

  • Elsewhere, Chloe Kim breezed through to tonight’s halfpipe final, finishing first in yesterday’s qualification. What, like it’s hard?

🎿 Skiing: It was heartbreak on the hill last night as fan-favorite Mikaela Shiffrin did not finish (DNF) her second consecutive race of the Games, this time in the slalom (her best event). This marked the first time Shiffrin has posted back-to-back DNFs since 2011. Still, she’s resilient and has more races to come.

  • Transitioning to big air, Colby Stevenson snagged silver in last night’s men’s final, just six years removed from a near-fatal car crash. Olympic-level inspiration.

Figure skating: If you need us, we’ll be rewatching Nathan Chen’s world-record short program performance before he goes for gold in tonight’s 8:30 p.m. ET free skate.

  • Chen — who heartbreakingly missed the podium at the 2018 PyeongChang Games — brought a new mentality to Beijing. Redemption is knocking.
