The GIST: There was a veritable tsunami of conference champs crowned this weekend. While most beach volleyball tourneys hit the sand later this week, Long Beach State burned through the Big West to their first-ever conference title this weekend. Farther from shore, schools nabbed trophies on the courts and the links — here’s who else is celebrating.

🎾 Tennis: The fellas of No. 8 Virginia and No. 5 Kentucky took the ACC and SEC titles, respectively, but the men of No. 3 TCU served up the most drama. They bookended two regular-season losses to archrival No. 1 Texas with the wins that really mattered, beating the Longhorns in their February ITA indoor ’ship and yesterday’s Big 12-clinching upset.

  • As for the gals, No. 5 NC State staged the biggest coup, earning their first-ever ACC championship with a win over No. 1 UNC. No. 4 Georgia pulled the SEC title out from under No. 2 Texas A&M, and No. 12 Texas beat No. 14 Oklahoma to take the Big 12.

⛳ Golf: Upsets also rocked the golf courses this weekend, from the Illinois women’s historic Big Ten–winning performance and the No. 23 Oklahoma State Cowgirls’ Big 12 title sweep to the No. 9 Florida men’s takedown of the nation’s top team, Vanderbilt, to steal the SEC hardware.

  • Still in play? The men of No. 12 Georgia Tech are chasing an ACC upset, which they’ll hope to close during match play today, while the Big 12’s fellas tee off their tourney this morning — if it’s anything like the gals’, truly anything could happen.
