Shake it like a Polaroid picture
The GIST: Our LA football teams are trending in different directions: The Rams shook up the National Football Conference (NFC) West landscape, while the Chargers were shaken up by yet another loss.
🏈Tale of two teams: Rams on top, baby! The Rams are now in a three-way tie for first in the NFC West after grabbing their biggest win of the season yesterday: a 23–16 victory over the Seattle Seahawks. The Rams’ defense was elite with cornerback Darious Williams’ two interceptions and linebacker Leonard Floyd’s three sacks, holding Seahawks' QB Russell Wilson to zero TD passes. No cookin’ here!
- The Chargers didn’t fare as well as the Rams yesterday. Miami Dolphin Tua Tagovailoa (pronounced TWO-AH TUNG-O-VAI-LOA) edged out Charger Justin Herbert in the battle of the rookie QBs, as Herbert’s Chargers took an ugly 29–21 loss against the Dolphins and dropped to 2-7. Sigh.
🏀Trading spaces: In the shortest NBA offseason ever, the Lakers are wasting no time to make some moves. The defending champions are planning to send their first-round draft pick and Danny Green to the Oklahoma City Thunder for Dennis Schröder. With Rajon Rondo potentially leaving in free agency, Schröder could Toosie slide right into his role.
🥊One last thing: We’ve partnered with our friends at BoxUnion to bring our regional GISTers a complimentary LIVE fitness class on Saturday, November 21st at 11 a.m. ET/8 a.m. PT.
