Seattle: Storm Continue Unbeaten Streak on the Road
🏀Storm: The Storm grabbed an emphatic, congradulatory 89–66 win over the shorthanded Connecticut Sun yesterday. Our former UConn stars must feel right at home in Connecticut: Breanna Stewart almost notched a double-double and Sue Bird hit another three-pointer milestone. Undefeated on the road and on top of the league standings, just how we like it.
⚾️Mariners: Unfortunately, the Mariners’ 6–2 win over Cleveland yesterday was overshadowed by right fielder Mitch Haniger’s injury. Haniger, who leads the team in home runs and RBIs, is day-to-day with a bone bruise after fouling a ball off his knee in the first inning. Ouch.
In more injury news, center fielder Kyle Lewis underwent meniscus surgery last Wednesday. There’s no timetable for the reigning American League (AL) Rookie of the Year’s return, but fingers crossed it’ll be this season.
