The GIST: It’s been an epic week on the grass at Wimbledon, with shocking wins sending unranked men and women to new heights and sure-to-be historic showdowns on deck. Pass the strawberries and cream, please.

Women’s singles: Upsets are the name of the game for the gals, with top-ranked Iga Świątek and No. 4 Jess Pegula eliminated in yesterday’s quarter-finals by their unseeded opponents, Elina Svitolina and Markéta Marketa Vondroušová, respectively.

  • The other two quarter-finals wrap up today, with America’s last hope, No. 25 Madison Keys, taking on No. 2 Aryna Sabalenka at 8 a.m. ET, followed by No. 6 Ons Jabeur vs. No. 3 Elena Rybakina at 8:30 a.m. ET.

Men’s singles: The men’s side didn’t see quite as many surprises in the two completed quarter-finals, with No. 8 Jannik Sinner and No. 2 Novak Djokovic advancing to Friday’s semifinal. ICYMI, Djokovic is chasing a record 24th Grand Slam title. Pressure? The Joker’s never heard of it.

  • But the Cinderella story of the tournament belongs to unranked American Chris Eubanks, who bested No. 5 Stefanos Tsitsipas on Monday to advance to today’s 9:15 a.m. ET quarter-final against No. 3 Daniil Medvedev. Glass slippers, meet green grass.
  • The victor of that match will meet the winner of today’s 9:45 a.m. ET Gen Z quarter-final showdown between No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz and No. 6 Holger Rune.
