Personnel Changes For Red Sox, Patriots
The GIST: The Red Sox are thinking of bringing a familiar face back to town, while the Patriots kept one through Tuesday’s trade deadline. The more things change, the more things (kind of) stay the same.
⚾️Long time no see: The Red Sox are like that friend who always seems to want to get back together with their ex. After firing Ron Roenicke in September, they’re still taking auditions for the open manager position, but maybe not for much longer: management reportedly flew to Puerto Rico to meet with Alex Cora last week. *eyes emoji*
- Cora managed the Red Sox during their 2018 World Series title before before serving a suspension during the 2020 season for his role in the Houston Astros’ sign-stealing scandal. Will the Red Sox and Cora get back together? Truth and time tells all.
🏈Off the market: The struggling Pats (still weird to say) made very few moves at the trade deadline...and thankfully addressed their current lack of wide receiver depth by acquiring Isaiah Ford from the Miami Dolphins. The more Isaiahs, the merrier? Otherwise, contrary to the rumor mill, currently-injured cornerback Stephon Gilmore is still a Patriot. About it.
