Women’s basketball: The Notre Dame Fighting Irish kick off the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Tournament when they take on the Clemson Tigers tonight at 8:30 p.m. ET/7:30 p.m. CT.
- The Irish come into the tournament as the No. 6 seed, meaning it’d be quite the upset if ND comes out with the ’ship. But you never know, they do have the luck of the Irish.
- The team has seen a spark out of a pair of freshmen: Maddy Westbeld and Olivia Miles. Westbeld is this year’s ACC Rookie of the Year, and Miles has scored in the double digits in the last four games. Let’s go, girls.
Men’s basketball: The No. 4-ranked U of I Fighting Illini have caught fire at the perfect time, crushing the No. 2-ranked Michigan Wolverines 76–53 on Tuesday to complete a trifecta of big, Big Ten wins. Even though the Illini are still without star Ayo Donsunmu, thanks to guys like André Curbelo and Trent Fraizer stepping up, the team hasn’t missed a beat.
- To secure four straight wins to close out the regular season, the Illini will have to beat the No. 7-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes on Saturday at 4 p.m. ET/3 p.m. CT, but we ain’t afraid of no nut.
