A first-of-its-kind bracket for the international women's soccer tournament happening in France
Why let college hoops have all the fun? The GIST is launching its first-ever bracket challenge as the top women's soccer players compete on the world stage — so you can have some skin in the game.
How to play
It's not just a gold medal on the line — here's how you can enter for a chance to win cash prizes with your picks.
- Once eight teams advance out of the group stage, pick your winners for the quarter-finals, semifinals, and gold medal match. You can enter up to three brackets — but make sure you fill them out completely.
- Points are awarded for every game picked correctly. The value increases per round (quarter-finals are worth 2 Points, while semifinals are worth 4 Points and the gold medal match is worth 6 Points).
- In the event of a tie, the GISTer who most closely predicts the total amount of stoppage time in the gold medal match wins.
- The deadline to submit a bracket is Saturday, August 3 at 8:59 a.m. ET, before the first quarter-final match begins.
- Check back to see how your bracket's doing on the live leaderboard.
- Winners will be announced in The GIST's Sports News newsletter and on The GIST's socials, so keep an eye out.
- Want more? Follow us, listen to our podcast, and subscribe to our newsletter for daily updates on all things Olympics, Monday through Friday. Bonne chance!
