The GIST: For the first time in NCAA women’s basketball history, a freshman is the AP Player of the Year and two Black women will be head coaches in the Final Four. Oh yeah, and there are two thrilling games on deck for tomorrow night. More herstory, please.

The GIST: Two No. 1 seeds and a No. 2 seed advanced to the men’s Final Four with a No. 11 tagging along, looking to crash their party this Saturday. Bring on the madness.

The GIST: After a record number of upsets in the first two rounds, the men’s Sweet Sixteen went mostly as expected, with all of the remaining No. 1 seeds advancing to tonight and tomorrow’s Elite Eight action. That said, the tourney’s Cinderella team found their fairy godmother, and turned the tables on the beloved Sister Jean.

No. 12 Oregon State Beavers beat No. 8 Loyola Ramblers 65–58 in the Sweet 16 on Saturday.

The GIST: The Villanova Wildcats’ run in the men’s NCAA tournament ended on Saturday in a Sweet 16 loss to the Baylor Bears. Can we pretend it’s 2018 instead?

The GIST: While the v. injured Lakers signed Andre Drummond yesterday to upgrade the center position, the USC and UCLA men are absolutely rolling. Watch out, here comes LA.

The GIST: We’ve gone from 64 amazing teams to just the “Elite Eight.” It’s time for the quarterfinals of the NCAA’s women’s basketball championship.
